Arbutus Arts Festival Sponsors Community Mural, Uniting Creativity and Community Spirit

The Arbutus Arts Festival proudly announces its collaboration with local artist, Kirk Seese and community business, Sorrento of Arbutus to sponsor a vibrant community mural, bringing art to the heart of our beloved East Drive. This exciting initiative not only celebrates artistic expression but also fosters a sense of unity and pride among residents.

Set to adorn a prominent wall in downtown Arbutus, the mural will serve as a colorful testament to the diversity and creativity that thrives within our community. Through the generous support of the Arbutus Arts Festival, Seese will transform the blank canvas into a captivating masterpiece, reflective of ARBUTUS.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Arbutus Arts Festival in bringing this mural to life," said Harold Xecominos, Owner of Sorrento of Arbutus. "We love our Arbutus community and are excited to be a part of the mural. We are celebrating our 60th anniversary next and can’t think of a better way to kick start the celebration!”

The creation of the mural will be a collaborative effort, with Kirk Seese working alongside community members to capture the essence of Arbutus. From brainstorming sessions to a community paint day, residents will have the opportunity to contribute their talents to the project, ensuring that the mural truly reflects the soul of our neighborhood. "As an organization dedicated to promoting the arts, we are proud to support initiatives that enrich the cultural fabric of our community," said [Sue Miller, Chairman of the Arbutus Arts Festival. "This reflects moments and places that we take pride in and we are excited to see the impact it will have on our community."

The unveiling of the mural will be a momentous occasion, with residents, the artist, and festival organizers coming together to celebrate this remarkable achievement. Stay tuned for more details on the unveiling event, where we will gather to admire the beauty of the mural and commemorate the collective effort that made it possible.
