We are lucky in South Baltimore and surrounding areas to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, South Baltimore parks and playgrounds keep my kids active, are a great place to meet old friends (and make new! friends), and they're FREE!
I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in South Baltimore and surrounding areas.
Riverside Park
301 E Randall Street 21230
Baltimore
What we love about Riverside Park:
One of our favorite parks by far! This park has amenities sure to keep kids of all ages happy. Beautifully kept and amzing playground equipment complete with a outside pool! The park has plenty of big trees which provides plenty of shade to stay cool. The park hosts plenty of outdoor events and concerts during the summer. Definitely family friendly.

Latrobe Park
1529 E Fort Ave 21230
Baltimore
What we love about Latrobe Park:
This is just a magical looking park that my family loves! The playgrounds are section by age, never a bored moment at the park! There is a big tent that helps cover the playground during hot days and helps a little when it is raining! We don't have a dog but if I did this would be the park that we would use! Plenty of space for a picnic!

Pumphrey Park
5757 Belle Grove Rd 21225
Brooklyn Park
What we love about Pumphrey Park:
Pumphrey Park is a brightly colored park just updated in 2018. It has a climb wall and all the lasted park equipment that makes your child never want to leave! Very clean and nestled in Brooklyn Park. Plenty of parking in the back. My family loves to grab our bikes and use the trail.

Gay Oaks Park
1200 Sulphur Spring Rd
Arbutus
What we love about Gay Oak Park:
There's a basketball court, two playsets (one for little kids and one for larger kids), swings, and plenty of open space. The only issue is parking (not very convenient, unless you want to cross the street and park at the school.) We have nicknamed this the Dinosaur Park because it has two easy to climb dines there for kids of all ages!

BPYAA Playground

Brooklyn Park
What we love about BPYAA Playground:
On this playground there is a “playdozer” that resembles a miniature bulldozer and features a slide, as well as climbing obstacles, is available for children ages two to five to play. The largest structure, designed for ages 5 to 12, comes with a triple racing slide, ladder, bridge, tic tac toe panel.
